About Anne-Sophie Cournoyer
Bio & Statement
Anne-Sophie Cournoyer (b. 1991) is a Canadian artist from Quebec City. In 2011, she fell in love with Vancouver Island's lush coastal landscape and migrated there. Today, she is grateful to live, grow, and create on the Lekwungen territory (Victoria, BC).
Mostly self-taught, she uses oil paint to evoke the otherworldly. She is known for her dreamlike, symbolic, and ethereal compositions and for her use of iridescent colour palettes. More recently, she has been exploring the tension between Nature and digital, between the archetypal and the technological, wondering what the raw, primordial power of the Feminine means in the metaverse.
Her love of portrait art lead her to create Reverie Portraits, her project dedicated to painting custom watercolour portraits.
